Sophistication Fashion Show

30 May

This fashion show comprised of a variety of high fashion items. My favorite line was of course the one designed by my little sister, known as Swanky and her partner, Moneysha. They have named their line Thrills and Threads, a most fitting name as the thrill you get while experiencing their line is comparable to that of designers aged in the fashion industry. Take a look at some of the photos and video from the event.

FASHION HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK

27 May

I woke up this morning and found a pleasant surprise in my stacks of mail. Gucci has a sale beginning June 1st. Make sure to check their website out. Every time Gucci has a sale, they do their customers right. The sale should be in the store as well as the website. Click the photo below to access the website! Enjoy (again, sale begins June 1st).

First off, let’s make it official and say, “Ain’t nothing like a Brooklyn girl.” To add even more to that, ain’t nothing like a Brooklyn party!

The crew had fun last night. Our first stop was House of Brews. This intimate bar on 46th Street in New York City is the spot to be on a Saturday Night. With the ability to play your own music on the jukebox, you could start the party off with a group of friends. And that we did. The jukebox had all current tunes and old classics (I played some Dipset songs from Juelz’s What’s the Game Been Missing.” I would recommend this little bar to anyone trying to have a good time in the city.

After walking through the Times Square area, we ended up taking some Harlem folk to a little Brooklyn party on Utica Ave…When you combine free drinks, old friends, and a great DJ, you get a Brooklyn party. We had a good old time at this little dance hall spot. Ain’t nothing like a Brooklyn party!

One more thing: I was forced to tell some unmentionables my meaning of Ron Browz’s song “No Wifin in the Club.” I was under the impression that he DID NOT mean because you are wifin in the club I’m going to now tax you and collect $20. I thought it was two simple concepts…No wifin in the club, but gimme your $20 admission to the club. Lol…After doing some research on google and Ron Browz’s twitter page, I was forced to come to the realization that he meant he taxing/fining people for wifin in the club…SMH

Many have thought that Cassidy’s accident placed him at a severe disadvantage, so much so that he wouldn’t be able to bounce back. I concur with the latter. He didn’t bounce back, he applied pressure and came back harder than a bullet. Listen to his mixtape. He is definitely doing his thing over there. Cassidy has his own label now.

I’m really feeling the Wrist Game Track. The beat is pretty dope. Another favorite moment is on track 4, when he says, “Do the Stanky Leg. Turn off that bull$%^(.” APPLAUSE

On track 20, Jumping in My Bag, Cass said, “The only beef you had, you can stick a fork in it.” lol
Cass is the punchline king

FASHION HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK

20 May

Summer is right around the corner. Memorial Day is even closer. Many go down to Miami to celebrate this weekend. Are they really prepared? Beach wear is a funny topic. Those with toned to muscular bodies usually don’t have to worry about what they wear to the beach, because most things fit them correctly, but what about those who have trouble finding a good bathing suit?

Those plus size women who aren’t yet comfortable with their bodies should try to purchase a kaftan or simple beach dress. They can still wear a nice bathing suit underneath, preferably one that fits well.

If you don’t take the advice concerning this matter, just try to never go out looking like this:

Although you should feel empowered about your size, according to Tyra Banks (see below), it is important that you maintain a look that you are comfortable with.

Plus size women aren’t the only ones who experience bathing suit trouble. There are women who aren’t especially well endowed with breasts or men who aren’t comfortable with being skinny. Women with small breasts can go the sundress route or simply wear a bathing suit bra with accessories. That’ll work for them. Skinny or heavy set dudes can always wear an appropriate t-shirt; one with a funny logo on it or some other cool design

This weekend in Rhode Island was undoubtedly full of fun times. When my fraternity brother Chris, a student at West Pt, invited me this weekend, I didn’t get it. I thought to myself, “Rhode Island? What the hell is in Rhode Island?” To my surprise, there was a lot to find.

A two hour drive from Brooklyn, New York, Rhodes Island sits in the Northeast Region, adjacent to Massachusetts and Connecticut. For those of you geographically challenged folk, take a look:

We arrived Friday night for the Kappa party the next night. I explored the downtown Providence area, in awe of its historic setting. I got Civil War vibes from some areas of the Providence City. See photos below. The mall was normal enough, a host to businesses like Abercrombie and Fitch, Foot Locker, and Johnny Rockets.

The Kappa party on Saturday night was on point. The females were out! The Nupes strolled all night. The DJ did his thing. See the video and photos below. I would recommend Providence, RI for anyone looking to experience a diverse crowd and fun times.

Yesstyle is one of my favorite overseas online stores. They never fail to show diversity in their collections. There is a sale on all the Korean items going on now. Check out some of my favorite looks:

[Caveat: You will get your items two weeks after you order them, but I assure you that if you shop smart, patience will pay off. Also, make sure to measure your dimensions ith measuring tape to insure the best fit.]

Just a quick tip: BE CREATIVE. You can make the most simple things into a clothing accessory. Take for instance the tie seen in the photo below:

All I did was fold a skinny scarf into the shape of a tie and use an iron to keep it stiff. Be daring, be different, but maintain modesty!!
