Favorite Moment – Chester French and Kid Cudi

29 Jun

Free concerts are always an enjoyable experience, especially when the artists performing are at the top of their game. Up and coming artists Chester French and Kid Cudi performed for Paper Magazine’s celebration on NYC’s South Street Seaport. Getting to this location was no easy feat as the rain was pouring down on us all. I had no umbrella, but still trekked through it all to get to the event. It was worth every drop of rain. Chester French’s eclectic sounds in combination with their great musicianship held the stage down. Kid Cudi’s dope beats and awesome lyrics had the crowd live! Check some footage out below:

Martin Luther King Series

For all of my Brooklyn heads and maybe even greater NY area people, this is nothing new. But those who may be passing through or even interested in free, top quality concerts, make sure to check this out. I went to the Lauryn Hill concert last year for free ninety-nine and I can attest to the most amazing time ever! The concerts are Monday nights @ 7:30 pm. I would highly suggest bringing your chair, drinks, and early arrival, as the line usually extends around four full blocks. Click the Martin Luther King Series Link for more information, including location. Enjoy!

Ralph Lauren has been honored by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), with the title “America’s Most Popular Designer,” (see below). This is no surprise, as the polo fad can be seen on the backs of millions of Americans today. A huge polo fad has been prevalent in the Atlanta area. One of the groups who often kill the Polo Ralph Lauren look are known as the “Polo Kings.” Check some photos below of their chains and custom polo work. I was able to kick it with them this past weekend at Atlanta Birthday Bash 14. Heads were turning like there was no tomorrow. Random Moment: Finger-flipping NYC

16 Jun

I had to leave some room for this week’s random moment. NYC has officially been voted the number one city with the angriest drivers. Essentially we are ranked #1 for ROAD RAGE. Being a NY resident myself, I have experienced and participated in this “angry driving.” Fist-waving, finger flipping driving seems to be the trend across each borough. I was actually surprised that Dallas/Forth Worth were ranked second and Atlanta was all the way down at seventh place. I have driven in both of these cities and it seems almost the same as NY, but I guess there is more space to get away with certain things. Miami is definitely no surprise. Moment of the Week – Def Jam 25th Anniv.

SneakerBox is a prime spot to cop exclusive gear from right in Brooklyn, NY. Who would have thought that it could transform to a nice lil spot for a rap star performance? Def Jam celebrated 25 years of recording at this convenient little location on 5th ave…The open bar all night added the extra touch to this homely spot. The gift bags topped the evening off with class. Big Sean and DJ Enuff did their thing. The crowd was feeling the music and of course having on the recently released Air Yeezy’s added to Big Sean’s buzz. The other artists included Lil Ru, etc. We ran into the fly Lil Mama looking good in her hood. She shared her vibrant personality with us at a neighboring pizzeria. There’s nothing like those Brooklyn girls! Check some footage out below:
