5 Day Weekend – NYC —–> ATL —-> NYC

23 Jan

My weekend started this past Wednesday afternoon. It still has not come to an end. This has been a great five days and nights and the photos are pure evidence. We celebrated Brittany and Brucling’s birthday. The fashion team was in the building. Mali aka Swanks go Hardly aka Mus was in the building. Check out the celebrants’ websites and Brittany’s dope inspiration video here:

I then flew to Atlanta. My brother Alex Polo King crossed into Kappa Land. Shout out to the Mighty Oak Chapter. We had a great few nights celebrating the occasion.  Shout out to all the Georgia nupes.

P.S. Greek Invasion was something to talk about. What a success!

I could not have come back to New York without celebrating with my homegirl Jasmine. She is such a great friend and I wish her many more Birthday celebrations. My boy Albert and the rapper Miss B (catch her in D.C. with Young Money on Jan. 29th) were too thorough with me. We shook the party! AMAZING!

I spy RINGS

Rings are a cool part of any outfit. Whether it be that engagement ring that your man bought after savings for twenty-five years, or costume jewelry, rings are just so cool. The key is to never over do it. Here are some classic examples of cool ring flavor:

BLAZERS for the COOL!

9 Jan

Blazers are an important addition to any outfit. Whether you are a male or female, a signature blazer should be within reach in your closet. Let’s take a look at how a blazer can transform an outfit:

HAPPY CENTENNIAL to the men of KAPPA ALPHA PSI FRATERNITY, INC.

8 Jan

(Nu Rho Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi makes it clear that the NUPES RUN THE YARD!)

(video by Gene Ray)

Let us all extend our congrats to the premier fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. founded on the predominantly white campus of Indiana University on January 5th, 1911 in Bloomington, Indiana. 10 founders successfully overcame hardships and doubts to bring something new founded on the principles of achievement to a campus where black men were not expected to make it intellectually, physically and mentally. This past week, my fraternity celebrated 100 years of achievement.

(documentary by the DIAMOND KONNECTION NUPES)

Throughout the years, Kappa men, also known as Nupes, ¬†have left their mark in an extensive array of industries. Some noteworthy names include, Arthur Ashe Johnny Cochran, Lorenzo Wright, Robert Johnson, Tavis Smiley, Percy Sutton, Cedric the Entertainer among others. I celebrated with my brothers in New York, attending a documentary release hosted by some New York Nupes. We also showed our support by attending the Touch of Klass event (pictured below). This centennial can only mean more excellent things for the Nupes. In a few months, our biennial CONCLAVE event will take place in Indianapolis, Indiana. I cannot express how much the Nupes take over a city for a conclave event. Soulja Boy’s Pretty Boy Swag sums it up accurately. This will be a year of EPIC proportions.
